Senior Technical Writer (Opening in Charleston, SC)

REQ#: GDI_19_010: Minimum 10 years’ experience to include writing/editing technical documentation, procedures, and guidelines for C4I systems or equipment with emphasis on cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) technical documentation. Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or Journalism is required. Will collaborate with the engineering team to develop and clearly communicate technical knowledge and direction via templates, briefs, requirements specifications, system design descriptions, configuration guides, test plans and reports, System Operational Verification Tests (SOVTs), implementation plans and other documentation. Will participate in technical reviews of engineering documentation deliverables. Will Develop and/or coordinate targeted communications designed to communicate cyber security threat and vulnerability information and increase security awareness. Will plan, implement, and/or manage communications supporting the program. Will track draft documentation draft status and monitor engineering completion of Enterprise Change Request (ECR) deliverables. Will develop and manage document development processes in coordination with other Technical Writers and client teams. Maintain documentation, diagrams, and drawings in CMPRO. Ideal candidate is a prior US military network administrator with IP and legacy transport and satellite controller experience. Serves as technical specialist responsible for the monitoring, operating and managing, troubleshooting, and restoring to service any of the components comprising the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) and associated IP networks. Include data/voice communications equipment, routers, crypto devices (KG-340, KG-175A/D/G, KIV-7, KIV-19), routing, network appliances (e.g., CSU, DSU, etc.). Performs pro-active monitoring of network elements alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure. REQ# GDI_18_018: Minimum 10 years' total experience with C4I systems with troubleshooting and maintenance of pre-production and production baseline Windows operating environments. Primary responsibilities include trouble ticket tracking/escalation/resolution, testing, implementing security compliance mitigations, and producing documentation deliverables to support preventative and corrective maintenance efforts. Candidate must have experience in Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 2008 Server or later, and Active Directory/Exchange. Will ensure all systems are STIG/DISA compliant. May assist in documentation or design of future requirements.
